Situated in the heart of Richmond, CA, Asian Pearl Seafood Restaurant offers an authentic and vibrant experience for lovers of Cantonese cuisine, particularly those with a penchant for delectable dim sum. This bustling restaurant has gained a reputation not just for its diverse menu but also for the welcoming atmosphere that draws diners from all over the Bay Area.

Your culinary journey begins with their exquisite soups, such as the Creamy Corn Soup with Crab Meat or the Chinese Herbal Chicken Soup, each offering a rich flavor that warms the soul. For dim sum enthusiasts, highlight dishes like the Squid Shrimp Dumpling, bursting with fresh shrimp, and the unique Purple Rice Crispy Shrimp Noodle that is as visually striking as it is delicious.

Asian Pearl doesn't just stop at traditional dim sum; the vibrant flavors of their offerings have been repeatedly praised by diners. One patron, Dave Wu, describes it as “a classic 大排档 (dai pai dong) experience” filled with big portions, great pricing, and fresh, zesty cooking reminiscent of lively street-side dining. The seafood is renowned for its freshness, cooked to perfection, allowing you to indulge in the rich taste of the ocean.

Complementing your meal, the variety of appetizers, including the Marinated Duck Wing and the refreshing Cucumber Salad with Garlic Sauce, sets the stage for a truly authentic dim sum feast. Each dish is crafted to spotlight the bold, flavorful elements that define Cantonese culinary tradition.

As you savor your meal, take note of the restaurant's inviting space, which features comfortable seating designed to accommodate both intimate meals and larger gatherings around a classic Chinese banquet table, perfect for sharing and enjoying with friends and family. The ambiance is lively and casual, adding to the communal experience typical of dim sum dining.

Though there are instances where the speed of service may vary—like the occasional cold taro puff, as noted by customer V W—the overall satisfaction remains high, with many diners appreciating the fresh, well-prepared dishes served at reasonable prices, reinforcing the restaurant's status as a neighborhood gem.

Make sure to visit early to secure a table, ideally an hour before opening, especially on busy weekends, as this popular dining spot can fill up fast. Whether you are a dim sum aficionado or a curious first-timer, Asian Pearl Seafood Restaurant promises a delightful culinary adventure, steeped in the flavors and traditions of Cantonese cuisine. Perfect for a casual outing or a special celebration, it is undoubtedly a must-visit dining destination in Richmond.

Continued to maintain good food and service. Arrive early for a table, preferably 1 hour of opening. For a restaurant this size and business, probably could expand the toilet, can't speak for the ladies, but the gents could use a couple stalls.

Absolutely love this place. Asian Pearl Seafood Restaurant nails that perfect blend of big portions, great pricing, and fresh, flavorful cooking. It really feels like a classic 大排档 (dai pai dong) experience — casual, lively, and packed with bold Cantonese flavors. The seafood is fresh and cooked just right — nothing overdone, and everything tastes like it came straight from the tank. From clams in black bean sauce to salt and pepper crab, you’re getting solid execution and quality without the premium markup you’d expect elsewhere. What makes it even better is the service — quick, friendly, and on top of everything, even when it gets busy. Dishes come out hot and fast, and the team is always accommodating with special requests or adjustments. If you’re looking for no-frills, high-reward Chinese seafood with that old-school street food energy, this is the spot. Whether you’re dining in with family or doing a big group dinner, Asian Pearl delivers every time.

The squid shrimp dumpling was tasty and lots of shrimp. Taro puff unfortunately came out as cold. The purple rice crispy shrimp noodle was delicious and unique. Saya’s beef tripes were good with pumpkin pieces. Overall the steam dim sum items were quite good. Comfortable spacious seating. On a slightly pricier side of dim sum. Update 10-15-24: Came back for dinner dim sum. Special tonight was soy sauce chicken. It was tasty, better than most Asian restaurants. Dim sum were good. Overall a great dinner spot for dim sum plus something special.

I was skeptical based on the reviews but I took a chance and it was worth it. The food is really good! Some of the best beef chow fun I have ever had. The waiter was really funny and had good service. There is a HUGE TV in the restaurant. It is bigger than my house. They should do something more with it rather than playing soccer games. Unfortunately I was not offered a free knuckle sandwich, but I did receive a complimentary red bean dessert that was very delicious. 10/10 recommend.

Chinese banquet tables are always fun. We had 10 people, so it was the typical lazy susan round table with a ton of yummy food. Hot and sour soup to start. I think it was prepared well, though I'm not a huge fan of this kind of soup. Do you like Hainan chicken? It's the lightly colored blanched kind that you dip in soy sauce with garlic, ginger, and scallions. One of the "cleaner" tasting Chinese dishes you will have. You can't go wrong with stir fried steak and veggies in black bean sauce. And of course Peking duck with the buns is a Chinese dining staple. For something a little more hearty we had the salt and pepper spare ribs which is pork dipped and deep fried in batter. Walnut shrimp was creamy with perfectly honey-glazed walnuts. Long life noodles are usually kind of plain but there's was quite tasty. And of course we needed veggies, so we had baby pea greens sauteed in garlic and oil. Chinese style family banquet dinners rock. And Asia Pearl Kitchen was pretty darned good.

This place did great dim sum at reasonable prices - fresh and well varied. No wait on a Friday afternoon. Service was completely fine and not rude at all. The enormous LED screen on the wall playing ads was a bit unnecessary though - just turn it off...
